What are fragrance decants?
A decant is a small, carefully measured sample of a fragrance hand-poured directly from an original, full-size bottle. Rather than committing to a full bottle, decants let you explore a scent at your own pace, whether you're discovering something new or revisiting a favourite. At DScent Privé, every decant is poured with precision and care to preserve the integrity of the fragrance.
Are your fragrances authentic?
Absolutely. Every fragrance we carry is 100% authentic, sourced from original designer bottles. We do not sell reformulations, imitations, or inspired-by alternatives. What you receive is the real thing, the same juice, the same quality, poured with care.
What sizes do you offer?
We offer decants in four sizes to suit every need:
- 2ml — Perfect for a first impression. Ideal if you're curious about a scent but not ready to commit.
- 3ml — A slightly longer trial, great for wearing a fragrance across different occasions and seasons.
- 5ml — Our most popular size for regular use. Enough to truly live with a scent.
- 10ml — The full experience. Ideal for a confirmed favourite you want to wear daily.
How do I choose the right size?
If you're exploring a new fragrance, start with a 2ml or 3ml to see how it wears on your skin throughout the day. If you already know you love a scent, a 5ml or 10ml gives you the longevity to enjoy it properly. When in doubt, size up, great fragrance deserves room to breathe.
What is your shipping policy?
We currently ship within Canada only. We ship with Canada Post. Orders are processed within 1–3 business days and delivered within 3–10 business days after dispatch. Shipping rates range from untracked bubble mailer $3.99 to tracked $14.99 or free shipping on orders over $130. You will receive a tracking number once your order has shipped. If untracked, you will receive a video proof attached to an email.
Where do we ship from?
We ship all our mail and packages from Montreal, QC.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, we ship within Canada only. We are working toward expanding to the United States and select international markets in the future. Sign up for our newsletter or follow us to be the first to know when that changes.
Can I return or exchange a decant?
All sales are final. Due to the nature of fragrance and hygiene considerations, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges on decants or samples. However, if your order arrives damaged or you receive the wrong item, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we will make it right. Reach us at dscentprive@gmail.com.
How should I store my decants?
Store your decants upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Fragrance is sensitive to light and temperature fluctuations, which can alter the scent over time. A drawer, cabinet, or dedicated fragrance storage box works beautifully. Avoid storing them in the bathroom, where humidity and heat are unpredictable.
Do you recommend a patch test?
Yes. We strongly recommend performing a patch test before wearing any new fragrance, especially if you have sensitive skin or known allergies. Apply a small amount to the inside of your wrist and wait 24 hours to check for any reaction. If irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately.
